One endearing memory of John is of a 'Knight in Shining Armour' who came to the

rescue of two inept DIY'ers, who had replaced a toilet seat (without reading the

instructions) and got it jammed in completely the wrong position! Dear John

volunteered to come and help. We told him it was hopeless but he just calmly and

quietly went about fixing it and, in no time at all, we had a perfectly positioned

'soft-close' toilet seat...........which we have been enjoying ever since!!! Thank you
